A gravity roller is a simple, reliable and cheap device. |

Gravity rollers don't need a power input so cost nothing to run. |

A gravity roller conveyor has no motors or chains so there is no need to worry about its guarding.

Gravity rollers only turn when a load is being conveyed - not continuously as in a powered roller system. Precision bearings are therefore normally not necessary.

Gravity roller conveyors allow loads to be easily stopped and started without complex mechanisms to disconnect/reconnect the power source from the rollers.
